For readers like Fareena Raza I would like to say that reaching Hollywood is not the only critarian to judge International Achievements of Cinema in any country. There are other places in the world, which are equally prestigious if not more, where even Hollywood producers dream to make a mark. Can Raza name even half as many films from China to reach and win acclaims at the Cannes, Venice, Berlin and other international film festivals as films from India I have chronicled in my blog?

Hi Kulin,
Thank you very nuch for your very valuable comment. I admit it was a mistake to have missed to include Sulochana amongst Bollywood's Top Ten Mothers. Ruby Meyers, more famous by her screen name, Salochana, started her career in 1920s. She is often remembered for her role of a nanny in Julie (1975). She also epitomized the perfect mother in many a hit movies. She was honored with Dada Sahib Phalke Award in 1974 and Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award (2003-2004).
Achla Sachdev also deserved a mention amongst other famous Bollywood mothers. She eminently played the all-sacrificing mother in many hit movies. She is best remembered for her role in Yash Chopra's super hit Waqt.

Dear Newinnewjersey 79, thank you very much for your well thought of comment. You're right, it is extremely difficult to pick the top ten from a vast vareity of innumerable comedies in Hindi cinema. Angoor sure could take a place in the top ten, pushing another down, and Andaaz Apna Apna is a great comedy too that can easily fit into the top twenty comedies. I missed on Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, but must be a good comedy too as you have named it with the other two. I'll try to watch it sooner than later. I love comedies. I appreciate your commenting on the blog and once again thank you for your interest. Warm regards.

Hi Sheela 99,
Thanks for correcting me on 'Zara samne to aa o chalia' song. I admire your memory - remebering the song of the 50s. You sure are one up on nostalgic memories of the wonderful melodies of the Golden era of Hindi cinema. Please keep it up, it may help me in my future blogs down the memory lane in Bollywood. I'll appreciate your contribution through your comments. Same goes for all my readers.

Bollywood's Top Ten Screenwriters
Suneelji, a million thanks for reminding me of Vrajendra Gaur, one of the greatest writers in Hindi Cinema. It was a slip of my memory to have missed to include his name in the list of top writers of Bollywood. There is no doubt Vrijendra Gaur was one of the most successful screenplay and dialogue writers of Bollywood. I will certainly remember him and pay my tributes whenever I write again on Bollywood writers. Tilak Rishi
